Introducing Environmental Equity

Our objectives

Based in Sydney Australia, but working globally, we recognise the strong nexus between the environment and the economy. This strong nexus means that there can be intense competition for resources particularly for water, in the agriculture, mining and energy sectors. Addressing the threats posed by climate change is increasing competition for resources and requires more complex laws to balance the competing needs. We will give you the tools that allow you to operate within this complexity and that meets these objectives:

  1. Supports environmentally sound, economically constructive and socially supportive business activity.
  2. Promotes a dynamic business environment that operates effectively within the context of changing legal, environmental and social constraints.
  3. Evaluates your current and/or proposed strategies within the current legal regime.
  4. Provide you with analysis that allows you to understand the legal context for the environmental, economic and social interactions, relevant to your business allowing you to make informed decisions.
  5. Recommend available avenues to achieve the best economic returns within the environmental, economic and social constraints within which you operate.

The importance of understanding the legal context

Today, businesses operate within complex interrelated systems, governed by individual but overlapping legislative provisions. For example, provisions for water resource management, agriculture, mining, Aboriginal land rights and heritage laws all interact. This creates a legal regime of such compexity that it is very difficult for busy people to determine and understand the requirements relevant to them.

Complex legal regimes complicate decision making processes

It is our role to research the laws that apply to your current and/or proposed activities to assist your decision making processes, allowing you to implement economically and environmentally sound proposals that comply with applicable laws.

To successfully do this the analysis must include assessment of the economic returns to water use against the impact that a proposed activity will have for the environment, for First Nations peoples and other Australians, and for the economy. We have environmental, legal and economic qualifications and many years of experience in these fields.

We can conduct comprehensive analysis of existing and proposed projects and assist you to develop sound, sustainable outcomes.
